Either it was a slow week for motorsports, or I’m swelled with national pride, but the biggest story in American racing this week didn’t take place at Las Vegas, Barber or Sepang.
It happened on a frozen track near Vancouver.
The U.S. won the Olympic gold medal in the four-man bobsled for the first time since 1948, as Uncle Sam encroached into a sport dominated by European sleds and drivers, especially Germany.
OK, I know what you’re thinking: “What the …. ? What does this have to do with motorsports?” No, I haven’t hit the sale on Pabst Blue Ribbon 12-packs with too much muscle.
